About Myles
Hi, my name is Myles. I am a certified
pediatric speech-language pathologist
and founder of Nobles Speech Therapy, LLC. My mission is to help children gain the communication skills needed to reach their full potential.
Hi everyone. My name is Miles Nobles. I am the founder and owner of Nobles Speech Therapy, and I have some great news for you guys today. I wanted to announce that Nobles Speech Therapy now has a new office space. So come along as I take you to the office store.
It wasn't originally a plan for me to be a speech language pathologist. Back as an undergrad at Hampton University, I planned on being a physical therapist. After majoring in biology and taking several math and science classes, I realized it was not for me. I needed to find another career that I could enjoy and have a strong passion for. I knew I enjoyed working with children but wasn't sure of the best career path to explore with them.
Throughout my freshman year, my grandfather suffered from a stroke. After visiting him in the hospital, I saw a speech language pathologist who helped him improve his communication skills. I found it very interesting. After doing more research on the profession and taking an introduction course, I fell in love with it ever since. It gave me a sense of purpose to take my passion for working with little ones.
The pediatric population keeps me energized, keeps me laughing, and they are fun to work with. I'm so excited to have an amazing career that is rewarding. I dreamt of this moment to have my own private practice and to see it become a reality is amazing.
In less than a year, we welcomed over 30 children to Nobles Speech Therapy. Our mission is to help children gain the communication skills needed to reach their full potential. We support this through four core values that guide our work: patience, persistence, perseverance, and empathy. We aim to equip your child with foundational communication skills that will last them a lifetime.
We look forward to servicing your child. Schedule a consultation today!

With over 25 years of dedicated service in the Baltimore City School System, she has held roles as a special educator, speech-language pathologist, special education department head, and currently serves as an Assistant Principal.

Although she now works in administration, Donna’s passion for speech-language pathology remains at the heart of her work. She is eager to reconnect with the field, bringing her wealth of experience, leadership, and commitment to student success. By integrating her expertise in both education and speech-language pathology, she aims to enhance student learning, communication, and overall academic growth.
With the addition of our new speech-language pathologists, we are more equipped than ever to support children in their speech and language development. Our team works collaboratively to ensure that each child receives personalized and effective therapy tailored to their unique needs.
with boys more likely than girls to suffer from speech-related disorders. Statistically speaking, African American boys are the most likely to suffer from speech disorders and the least likely to receive treatment or assistance.
That's why as one of the few African American males working in the female-dominated field, I want to be visible so that kids can see a therapist who looks like them.
I firmly believe therapy sessions should be fun for kids and involve parents in the treatment. Many children say they look forward to my therapy sessions and are excited to share what they've learned each week.
I make it a point to keep parents informed of newly introduced skills and give activities to practice and reinforce throughout the week.
I even wrote a book, "The Courageous Lion in Milo," to provide an enjoyable way for you to work with your child at home.
A critical factor for making progress in children's speech therapy is the demeanor of the speech pathologist and his or her ability to establish a rapport with the child.
I believe the traits that enable me to connect with children and make progress where other therapists and counselors have failed are:
A consistently calm and understanding manner is vital when working with children.
I won't give up on your child despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
I maintain faith in your child when the going gets tough. We look for solutions and make adjustments if your child doesn't respond to standard treatments.
I can understand the feelings and frustrations associated with difficulty communicating.
I am trained and certified in the following areas:
- a speech therapy approach to treat speech impairments. One PROMPT component is a hands-on therapy, where an SLP provides touch cues to guide the child's jaw, lips, and tongue to form words correctly. This approach also uses fun activities and games to focus on relevant terms that make sense to kids.
This approach helps children who are non-verbal or have limited or unclear speech, including autistic. It begins by using pictures to communicate basic requests and slowly increases communication complexity in phases.
About Pediatric Speech Pathologists
Many people think that speech-language pathologists (SLPs) only help people with lisps or stutters speak more clearly, which is indeed part of an SLP's role. However, SLPs can do much more than that.
SLPs are highly trained professionals who work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communications, cognitive communications, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
There is no difference between a speech therapist and a speech pathologist.
A speech-language pathologist is a newer and more preferred term because it helps people understand that SLPs can assist with many types of communication issues, not just speech or articulation.
Speech pathologists treat all kinds of disorders that involve how people communicate, including:
SLP's assess, diagnose, and treat all kinds of speech and associated disorders so that children communicate better, develop greater self-esteem, build confidence and improve social skills.
A pediatric speech-language pathologist specializes in working with children and young adults.
A certified child speech-language pathologist can assess your child's speech. If an issue is found, they may suggest further testing, such as a hearing test, or recommend speech therapy.
Treatment may include learning the correct way to make sounds, learning to tell when sounds are right or wrong, and practicing sounds in different words and sentences. Recommended solutions depend on the causes for the articulation problem, the age of the child, or the severity of the issue, among other factors.
Your child's speech pathologist will also give the parent or caregiver communication tools and recommend specific actions to support the child at home.
